GRAVI was an experiment, to determine the gravitational force at very small
accelerations at values comparable to what is observed at large astronomical
distances; at settings where observations generally indicate rather large deviations
from Newtonian expectations.
The experiment is based on changing the position of a pendulum under the
influence of the gravitational force of masses that are placed on various distances with
respect to the pendulum mass. The determination of the changes of the pendulum position is based on
the highly precise measurement of the resonance frequency of a GHz cavity.
A first result on the performance of such a setup has been
published in "General Relativity and Gravitation". ( H Meyer )
